Figure 1:  Traces of left ventricular systolic  pressure and heart rate from rat myocardium in situ:    A) control  B) dopamine stimulated  C) post dopamine stimulated  D) left anterior descending (LAD) ligated heart.   During dopamine stimulation, the heart increases both its oxygen consumption and work output.


These pages were put together as a pilot demonstration by Bob Cardiff, UCD Center for Comparative Medicine with the collaboration of Dr. Michael Paulus, Oak Ridge National Laboratories,MicroCat Group, Dr. Allan Johnson, Duke University Center for In Vivo Microscopy, and Drs.
