69. SUBGROSS OF HYPERSECRETORY LOBULE

Slide 69. The large TDLU is a "hypersecretory lobule", or HSL. These are often found in otherwise inactive
breasts. Note the several smaller background lobules. HSL are lobules which contain active secretory cells
synthesizing components of milk in an otherwise inactive gland. Altered hormonal sensitivity of HSL is implied.
The HSL measures 2 mm in greatest dimension. Hematoxylin stain.
