Slide 40. This is a subgross photograph of carcinoma-in-situ of the lobular cytological type
(lobular-carcinoma-in-situ, or LCIS , or lobular neoplasia). LCIS typically consists of poorly defined, enlarged
lobules as seen here. This group of four lobules measures about 1.5 x 1.0 mm. Note the enlarged acini filled with cells, and the interesting vascular pattern. Hematoxylin stain.
