Slide 30. Corresponding histology for slide 29. This is a single acinus filled with epithelial cells characteristic of the micropapillary pattern of DCIS. The lesion is in a lobule, not a duct. There is loss of the basal layer and of polarity. Cribriform pattern and hyperchromatic pleomorphic nuclei are observed. The acinus measures about 0.2 mm. Hematoxylin and eosin stain.
