Slide 21. This is a subgross photograph of an atypical TDLU, classified as an ALA, grade l, on the basis of the corresponding histology (slide 22). The lesion measures 2 x 3 mm. Note the greatly enlarged acini (A) and the uniform thickening (hyperplasia) of the blue epithelial lining. Compare with surrounding normal lobules.
Note duct (D) and intralobular terminal duct (ITD), which is the central axial space of this ALA. Hematoxylin stain.
