Slide 17. This is a portion of a mammary slice taken from beneath the nipple. The field measures approximately 2 x 3 cm in area, and is 2 mm thick. Note the large ducts (galactophores) (G) and many normal lobules (L). The double arrows indicate abnormally enlarged hyperplastic lobules with enlarged acini.
Histological examination will establish the exact identity and possible preneoplastic potential of these hyperplastic lobules. Hematoxylin stain.
