14. ELASTIC STAIN OF TDLU

Slide 14. This elastic stain of a TDLU demonstrates that while elastic fibers (dark red) are found around the extralobular terminal duct,
there are few or none in the lobule. This allows a distinction to be made between lesions that occupy lobules and others that occupy extralobular terminal ducts, or larger ducts.
This lobule measures about 1 mm in diameter.
